The dermal cell system is a layer of skin between the epidermis and subcutaneous tissues, its function is to protect the body's tissues and organs from the bad environment. Fibroblasts, macrophages, and adipocytes are vital components required for the normal function of the dermal system. Apart from these cells, the dermis is also composed of matrix components such as collagen, elastin and extrafibrillar matrix, proteoglycans and glycoproteins.
